★★★★★a month agoGoogleThe Counter was a culinary journey I won't soon forget — easily one of the best meals I've had in Switzerland. The attention to detail was evident in every element of the experience.
I'll be the first to admit I'm no food writer, but the highlights for me were: caviar atop cucumber ice cream, shaved wagyu salami over a brisket dumpling, lobster on fermented bread, and a stunning turbot with ponzu and radish. Many of the dishes had a playful element — unexpected textures layered together, or small interactive moments that invited you to blend the flavors yourself.
I opted for the wine pairing, which leaned heavily into Swiss wines and was outstanding. My wife chose the non-alcoholic pairing, which I sampled throughout the evening — genuinely impressive in its own right. One of the drinks arrived looking like water, smelled like coffee, and tasted like an espresso martini. That kind of creativity ran through the entire meal.
The counter seating was comfortable and offered a front-row view of the kitchen in action. I was dining with my wife and another couple, and we were fortunate to land the corner seats where conversation was still possible — but for the ideal experience, I'd recommend coming as a party of two.
If you can get a reservation, don't hesitate. This place is worth every effort.

★★★★★a month agoGoogleI had the absolute pleasure of dining at the Counter restaurant, and I must say, it was an great experience! From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of understated luxury and refinement. The décor was sleek and sophisticated, with a quiet elegance that immediately put us at ease. The ambiance was calm and serene, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion like a birthday (or a romantic evening out.)
The service was impeccable, with a staff that was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food. Our team of servers were happy to guide us through the tasting menu, offering pairing suggestions and sharing stories about the dishes. The team's passion for the cuisine was evident in everything they did, from the way they presented each dish to the way they expertly paired most flavors.
Speaking of the food, it was truly exceptional. While the menu may not have been revolutionary or avant-garde, every dish was expertly crafted and presented with precision and care for Michelin standards. Each bite was a masterclass in flavor and technique, with every element working together in harmony: the fish fantastic, caviar that should be celebrated, beautuful brioche! The quality of the ingredients was evident, and the attention to detail was impressive.
One of the standout aspects of the meal was the juice pairing. I opted for the bespoke juice pairing, and it was a revelation. Each juice was carefully selected to complement the flavors of the dish, and it added a whole new dimension to the meal. The combination of flavors was spot on, and it was clear that a lot of thought and care had gone into creating the pairings. Tomato, cucumber, alechilles, and more...
The dessert course was a highlight, with a truly unique and intriguing dish featuring truffles. While it may not have been to everyone's taste, it was certainly a bold and adventurous choice. The truffles added a deep, earthy flavor that was fascinating, and the presentation was stunning.... but I would not have it again.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly exceptional dining experience. While it may not be the most innovative or cutting-edge restaurant out there, it is undoubtedly a Michelin-standard establishment that delivers on its promise of quality and excellence. The staff, atmosphere, and food all come together to create a truly unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling satisfied and eager to return.
