The bakery is open on Sundays. One has to place the order and pay and the order is delivered to the table. As well, you have to ask them to clear and clean the table from the previous party. The coffee is OK, not very strong and the pastries taste a bit commercial. Dining area is a bit cramped. The Americano cost SF6 and the 3 pastries SF9.

During our walk around downtown Zurich, exploring both the new and old parts of the city, we stumbled upon St. Jakob Beck & Kafi Münsterhof, which seemed like a charming little spot to take a morning break. The cafe had a wide variety of pastries, and we were eager to try a few. However, our experience quickly soured the moment we walked in. Upon entering, an older man with gray hair immediately began staring at us. As we tried to understand the pastries on display, we struggled with the language barrier, as we don’t speak German. We responded in English and French, but the man seemed irritated. His tone was rude and impatient throughout the entire interaction. I ordered an apricot pastry and a coffee, but the man rushed us to pay with a noticeable sense of annoyance. When my boyfriend asked about another pastry flavor, the man snapped, "What?! It’s ALmooonndddd!" We felt his frustration grow, and at that point, we just quickly decided to take one of those almond pastries as well. When it came time to decide whether to take the food to go or dine in, we chose to stay, and the man curtly told us to choose a table. He brought our food over without a word. Unfortunately, from start to finish, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable, with no staff offering a smile or a friendly greeting. The coffee, a cafe latte, was decent but a bit too foamy for my taste—almost like a cappuccino served in a glass. The pastries , no wow effect, were served cold and didn’t live up to the expectations we had for a local Zurich cafe. There was no offer to reheat them, which felt like another missed opportunity to enhance the pastry at the best experience. With so many other cafe options around, it's hard to recommend this place. The overall experience left a lot to be desired, and the uninviting attitude of the staff, especially the older man, really impacted our enjoyment. I can’t see myself returning, and I’d suggest checking out one of the other many cafes in the area instead.
