  In our hunt for authentic Kerala cuisine, we ended up at Malabar Restaurant in Zurich. The place is fairly large and even serves alcohol — with a few Kerala-inspired cocktails on the menu, which was quite interesting. The owner himself was present and very hospitable, which added a nice personal touch. We tried several dishes including the chaats, beef curry, rotis, and the thali. Apart from the thali, everything else was just okay. There aren’t many options for Kerala cuisine in Zurich, so in that sense, Malabar does fill the gap. Overall, an okay spot for a quiet, no-fuss meal.

  Authentic South Indian menu, simple, clean and uncluttered ambiance. The owner came to greet us and we had a great conversation. He told us about some South Indian hidden gems that were not on the menu and we jumped on it without hesitation. Everything was cooked to perfection! Thoroughly enjoyed it, and can recommend this to anyone visiting Zurich.
