  Le Petit Marais is well stocked with butter croissants, pain au chocolats, and almond croissant and also offers some nice savoury options with a French touch. I really enjoyed my coffee: well executed, nicely balanced, not overly acidic, and with beautiful latte art. Honestly, nothing to envy from specialty cafés. I was less impressed by the salted caramel cruffin - and pastry was actually the reason I came. The shape was great and it was very fluffy, but slightly too dense, something I’ve noticed with many pastries in Zurich, more like breads /brioches and less pastries. It makes me wonder whether it’s the water, the flour, or a combination of both. The salted caramel flavour could have been bolder; it leaned more towards vanilla. Also, the filling felt a bit sparse considering the size of the cruffin (see picture below). That said, the pastries are good, but there’s just inevitably a certain gap compared to what you’d find in France - and this applies to nearly every pastry shop in town with few exceptions. It does get crowded on weekends, but I appreciate that there’s no pressure to leave, unlike in many other places. The soft background music in the morning is also a lovely touch. I’d happily come back to try something savoury next time.

  Local bakery in Altstetten. They change their menu according to the season and fresh products. My recommendations: - Pulled pork mini pie (I don’t know the official name) - Any type of cruffin - Pink Chai Latte Very nice and cozy place! Also, they open on Sundays 🥰
