Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience in this restaurant. After eating mussels, I became seriously ill (vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness). A friend who tried just three mussels from my plate also felt unwell shortly after.
I contacted the restaurant. During the first call, the staff were polite and said they would investigate and get back to me. They did call back, which I appreciated - however, the way the situation was handled afterward was unacceptable.
Instead of taking responsibility or showing concern, I was told that: They called a “regular guest” who ate mussels that evening and felt fine
therefore, it was unlikely to be food poisoning... They told it was probably my body’s reaction, a virus, or the flu. Essentially, that the restaurant was not responsible
This is not appropriate!
Restaurant staff are not doctors and should not be making medical assumptions or dismissing a food poisoning report. The correct response would have been concern, transparency, and responsibility not excuses.
Food safety issues should never be brushed off by comparing one guest to another or shifting blame onto the customer’s health.
Because of how this was handled, I will not return and do not recommend this place. The lack of accountability was worse than the incident itself.
