I finally visited Café Lalere after already knowing (and loving) their shokupan and it did not disappoint!
The café has a clean, minimal interior, which I’m a big fan of. It feels calm and modern, perfect for a quick coffee stop.
I tried the sesame latte, something completely new to me and it was surprisingly delicious. It’s definitely one of those flavours that you either love or don’t, but if you’re open to trying something different, it’s absolutely worth it.
The main reason I came, though, was the butter salt shokupan and it was just as amazing as I remembered. Incredibly soft, fluffy, and it literally melts in your mouth.
The only downside is the space. There’s a very small seating area (maybe for four people) and the rest is counter space where you have to stand. I feel like the space could have been used a bit better, or at least stools could be added to make it more comfortable.

Im truly happy I found this place in Zurich.
